Empowering Rural Matriarchs: Government Launches Phase II of National Campaign on Entrepreneurship
Unlocking the economic potential of rural women to build 60 million Lakhpati Didis and drive sustainable grassroots development.
The Government of India has officially launched the second phase of the National Campaign on Entrepreneurship under the flagship Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana - National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM). Extending for three months from today until November 21, this strategic phase is designed to bolster rural women's entrepreneurship and accelerate progress toward the national ambition of creating 60 million Lakhpati Didis—women from Self-Help Groups (SHGs) earning a sustainable annual income of at least ₹1,000,000.
Driven by the Ministry of Rural Development, the expanded phase focuses on fostering farm and non-farm entrepreneurial opportunities, strengthening the Community Enterprise Promotion Cadre, deepening digital and e-commerce penetration, and scaling Producer Groups and Producer Enterprises.
Key Campaign Targets
| Core Focus Area | Target Milestone |
|---|---|
| Cadre Development | Training 50,000 Community Resource Persons |
| Capacity Building | Entrepreneurship & livelihood training for 500,000 SHG women |
